Routine

Right now Kelsey and I are working on our schedule. Now that we are nice and comfortable in our new place I decided it really is time to get into a routine. Sooo this week has been going pretty good! I started off just working on her bedtime. She was going to bed really late. She wouldn't fall asleep until 11:30. It was getting pretty tiring. Every night I would try to get her to fall asleep a little earlier by feeding her earlier. At that point I was giving her a bath in the mornings. So I decided to start giving them at night because I have read that it helps to soothe them and fall asleep easier. So now at about 8:40 I give her a bath and then right before 9 I take her out and get her dressed for bed. I try to read her a story but sometimes she is just ready to eat and go to bed. This week has worked out really well! She slept from 9:30 til 7:30 and then 8:15 two nights in a row! Now we will see how tonight goes =D Hopefully well! She fell asleep by 9:30 tonight too so I am hoping for the best.
My next thing I need to tackle are her nap times. She usually just takes a lot of cat naps and it was hard to get her to lay down in her crib for a nap. Yesterday she did well. She took two long naps and only like two little cat naps. Today she didn't do as well. She took a really really long one earlier tonight so I hope it wont make her wake up in the middle of the night. But she could surprise me. She does everyday =D And I just love her so much!!!
We are having so much fun playing together and doing chores together. She loves her play mat and her bouncer. We just bought a bumbo that I think she really enjoys. She is at the point where she likes to sit up and look around and be apart of everything else going on so the bumbo is great! She is starting to grab things more and kick her little legs and move her arms a ton! So cute! Bath time is fun because she is now starting to splash! Water everywhere! But it is ok because she is just too cute. I don't care if I get wet! Or if the mirror has water marks =) I love my daughter and I am grateful I can be here for her and watch her grow and be her friend. I am so grateful for my husband and all he does to make that possible! I love you Trent!

Seaside!

Well as some of you may know, my family has a beach house in Seaside. My grandpa's aunts owned it and my Papa spent a lot of his life there as well. So we share it with his brothers and sisters' family. We take turns out of the year to spend time at the beach house. It is an old house but so loved indeed. We all have fond, special memories growing up there. In the summer time we would get to spend 3 weeks down there. That was my favorite part of the summers. Boogie boarding in the cold, cold ocean, Making sand castles by the sea, trying to cover up the water hose with sand before we all got wet, walking down to the green store and buying our 10 cent candies, walking on the boardwalk, and riding on the bumper cars. We also got the chance to hang out with all our cousins. We are a pretty close knit family I would say. My mom's cousins live in Utah and Seaside so every summer we would be able to become even closer to them and their kids my age. I think of them as my Aunts and Uncles and first cousins =) I love them all so much. The beach house brought us together and brought us lasting memories. I am excited to have my children grow up with their cousins as well. To make special memories with them and learn how to laugh and have fun and relax.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to go down to the beach house for Spring break. We were able to get together with some of my cousins which really hasn't happened for a while. It was so fun to see them and laugh with them again. I was able to make new memories with them that will last forever. Even better their kids were there to have fun with too. I was happy that Kelsey was able to be apart of that group. Even though she is young, I know she loves her cousins. I can't wait for the day that she is older and will be able to play and make memories just like I did. I love my family and I cherish every moment I have with them. Thanks Seaside and thanks Papa for bringing us together and for the amazing memories! It is one of the happiest places on earth!

Little Laughs

Sooo, on Sunday night Kelsey laughed for the first time! And it was a full out laugh! She had done some chuckles before like she was trying and Sunday night she succeeded!! It was so adorably cute! I loved it! We were at the beach with my family and we were all laughing over something and then we all hear Kelsey laughing! It was crazy! We had to do a double take. haha! And she did it again and again! She was lovin it! Oh, so cute!! I just love my little girl! I can't wait to hear more little laughs from her =)

She is such a goof!!

In my Daughter's Eyes

In my daughter's eyes
I am a hero I am strong and wise
And I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh, It puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

Has had enough
It's giving more when you feel
Like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes
I can see the future
A reflection of who I am
And what will be
And though she'll grow
And someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see
How happy she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

The Move

Well we moved! It was time for us to find a new place and be on our own. So we found some nice apartments just inside Gresham. We really really love them! It is so different from where we were. We were in a basement that didn't get much sunlight and had dark walls. Here it is so bright and cozy! I love it! I was in such a funk without light. I never felt right. I just want to say that I feel so much better! We have a dishwasher which is a blessing!!!! No more hand washing. And a washer and dryer close by. Another blessing with Kelsey here =) We just got everything settled and I am pretty pleased. My mom and sister-in-law Summer were such a help. They came and helped me unpack and decorate. Such a big help!! Kelsey was pretty good during it all too. We got a lot done and it looks great. I just love it! Can't say it enough! =D And Kelsey even loves it too! Since we have been here we bought a crib and she sleeps in it every night now instead of in our bed. Her room is so cute and every time I take her in there she coos. So cute! The only bad thing is that the neighbors upstairs are super super loud! As we speak they have their music turned all the way up and are playing drums or something. The other night at midnight they were drunk and had their music up pretty loud and were singing really loud with super bad voices! I wasn't too happy since it was right above Kelsey's room. I know it's good for babies to get used to noise but I was still pretty annoyed at why it had to be above her room and until 2 am. I really just want to bang on the ceiling and yell! I know, sometimes I get a little too upset....But it really is annoying. I am always thinking of my neighbors when it comes to noise so I guess it just frustrates me when others don't do the same thing.

dad settin up the crib =)

kelsey loves it! good job dad!

Emily and Lucy were also nice enough to come visit for Kelsey's blessing! It was so nice to see them! Lucy has already grown so much it seems since I last her at Christmas. She is such a happy little girl and just so cute! It was fun to take pictures of her and Kelsey together. Blessing Day

February 13th, 2011 Kelsey Jane Caudle was blessed by her father Trent Caudle. It was a wonderful day! Trent did a wonderful job on her blessing. What a great father. It was so special and the whole day I was happy. She was blessed in the dress that my Grandma made and that I wore for my blessing day as well. It is a beautiful dress. She also wore a bracelet that my mom bought for her. A little white crystal and bead bracelet. So cute. On her feet she wore little white booties that her aunt Mal bought for her. They were perfect and oh so cute! She looked adorable! After her blessing at church we had our family come over for a little food and to visit. It really was a great day. I am so happy that James and Mal had the chance to be there for it. I love my family and I love my little girl.

James and Mal come

My brother James and his wife Mal came to visit over Valentines Day for Kelsey's blessing. It was so nice to be able to see them. They live in Arizona and the last time we saw them together was almost a year ago. Hopefully we will be able to have them back for Christmas this year. Kelsey will be walking by then! It will be weird for them to see how Kelsey has grown. But I am so happy and grateful they were able to come. They were so great with Kelsey. She loved them both. She greeted James with a great big smile they first time he saw her. It was so cute. And Mal calmed her down every time she got fussy. I am so lucky to have such great family. It was so cute to see them interact with her. I am glad I got a few pictures too to print out and show Kelsey too for when she is older. We will have to skype with them often. It's never too young to start! =) It was a great trip though and we were sad to see them leave. Love you guys!

Rolling over

This girl rolled over from her tummy to her back a couple weeks ago! She did it two nights in a row! What a girl! Mommy was so proud =) She hasn't done it anymore though. But I know she can do it. She probably just doesn't do it because I always have my camera out trying to catch it ;)

Kelsey's loves

Right now Kelsey's loves include:

-Bath time. This girl loves her baths. She just sits there and takes the water all in. She loves it.
-Sleeping. She still loves to sleep a lot! Multiple naps a day are her thing. I think it's from growing so much
-Sitting up. She now likes to sit up, with help of course. She likes to look all around at everything that is going on around her. She is really good at holding her head up. Such a strong girl!
-Cuddling. She is definitely a cuddler. I love it though. I love to hold her and stare at her while she takes her little cat naps. So cute.
-Babbling. She will now lay down and stare at you and just coo and babble and gurgle. It is the most precious thing I have ever seen and listened to. She makes me love her so darn much!
-Pacifier. She likes to take her naps with her pacifier. It's cute.
-Play time. She love love loves her play mat that her Aunt Mal made for her. She will spend up to half hour on it which is so nice. It is so cute to watch her bat at her toys and hear her little noises when she hits her hippo and keys.
-Grabbing. She is starting to get the hang of grabbing things. She will now grab her keys from her play mat. And then she wont let go! She will shake them too. So cute! She likes to grab my shirt too.
-Her mommy. She loves me of course! And Daddy too =) and her Grandma and Grandpas and aunts and uncles!

What Kelsey does not like:

-Getting the snot sucked out of her nose. She absolutely hates it. And also getting her nose touched. She will just cry. I always make Trent do it because I don't like hearing her cry.
-Being left alone. She doesn't like to be by herself for very long. Sometimes makes it hard but I am ok with it right now. I know she loves her mommy =)
