4 months!!

Kelsey is 4 months old today!!

Stats:

Height- 25in. tall
90th percentile

Weight- 12.4 lbs
25th percentile

I have a tall and skinny girl! Who would have thought I would have a tall girl! She just might be taller than me someday =) We will just have to wait and find out! The Dr. said I need to try feeding her longer and maybe start on some rice cereal to try and get some more meat on her. So maybe this month we will try it out and see how it goes. The Dr. also said I need to try and put her on her sides more because her head is flat in the back. It kinda made me feel bad. She just doesn't like her tummy time or really being on her sides. So now I am all paranoid that her head is going to be flat forever and that it is all my fault. I just like playing with her on her back because she is so cute and likes to play on her mat. I guess I will have to try to be better.
She wasn't able to get her shots yesterday because she wasn't technically 4 months old until today. Lame I know. It was just a day difference! Oh well. So today I took her in to get her shots. She kinda fell asleep right before which I think made it more traumatic for her. There were two nurses and they each took a leg and poked her at the same time. It was so sad. She had tears running down her face. I did not enjoy that. But I am kinda glad they did it at the same time so that she could get over it faster. She cried for a few minutes and then passed out in my arms. My baby. But she has been fine today. No problems really so that made me happy. She just took a super long nap. Well long for her anyway. Anyway, here is some stuff about Kelsey right now =)

Kelsey is at such a fun age right now. I am really enjoying being her Mom. She is really smiley and starting to laugh a lot more. I love it! She is so cute! She is really wiggly and likes to kick her legs and feet all the time!! In the bath I have to make sure I am not standing too close because she splashes everywhere! She gets me drenched and leaves puddles on the floor and bathroom counter. She is really funny in the bath. Kelsey loves her bath time before bed!
She is really strong and can stand on her legs for a good amount of time. She doesn't really enjoy tummy time at all! But this last week she has been able to stand being on her tummy longer and I can tell she is getting stronger =) She constantly has her fingers in her mouth and drools everywhere! She likes to spit at me too sometimes. She is getting at the age where she really wants to sit up a lot more. So the bumbo is nice because she is able to sit up and play on her mat. So that is fun.
Kelsey is a jibber jabber. She loves to talk to me! And when there is a lot of people around she loves to just sit and watch them. She just likes to see what they are doing. Depending on the environment too she will just talk and talk to other people who sit in front of her and talk to her too. She really likes it when people talk to her. The more you talk to her, the more she will smile and talk to you. She is starting to kind of take interest in her stuffed animals with faces. It is pretty cute.
She goes through her fussy phases. I find that she is more fussy when she hasn't filled her diaper. Sometimes she will go a couple days without pooping. Those days aren't too fun because you can tell her tummy hurts. Other than that she is a really good baby! She sleeps 10 hours most night which is wonderful! I am still having a hard time getting her to take naps longer than 30 minutes. She will take like 4 or 5 half hour naps. I am hoping that as she gets older she will forget about that schedule and actually get on a sensible schedule so that I am able to get some things done around the house.
I love my little baby and I couldn't have asked for a more sweet little girl. She is my little angel and princess. I love her more than anything! I am lucky to have her in my life with a wonderful husband and father who loves her just as much as I do. What a lucky girl! I love you Kelsey girl! You make mommy so happy and proud!!!

Easter Madness

Wow. What a crazy Easter Weekend! I don't think we were home longer than two hours a day thursday through monday. All five Caudle boys were together which, anyone who knows them knows that they love to spend time together and be as loud as possible! It is always so busy when everyone is here. They are constantly playing games or just talking loud. haha! It is nice to get everyone together once in a while just because I know how much Trent enjoys it. It also means that I get to talk to the girls while the boys go do their thing.
During this break, Emily and I were able to spend some time together with our little girls which was really fun. I didn't get a picture of them together this time. I guess it will just have to wait. Lucy is crawling everywhere and she helped me discover what things around my apartment to be aware of =) Kelsey just loved to watch her play. She would just stare at her. It was pretty cute and funny. I think they will be great friends this summer! We spend a lot of time with the Caudle family. Saturday we were able to do a Easter egg hunt with the kids and go for a walk. It was such a nice day. Kelsey really enjoys being outside.
My cousins are also in town. One in the Navy and one in the Army. I haven't seen them in a while so on Sunday it was so nice to spend some time with them and the rest of my family for Easter brunch. I love Easter brunch with my family. And I love spending time with my cousins. It is so much fun. I just love them! We had a cribbage tournament after we ate. There were about 4 games going on at once. Sadly I couldn't continue in the tournament because we had to leave to spend Easter dinner with the Caudles. But it was fun anyway =) I played against my Grandma and left her in the stink hole. Which is 1 point away from the finish. I didn't even know that she knew how to play. So I learned something new =) She said she always used to play against my Papa and beat him. lol. We played in memory of him.
We then went and had a very nice dinner at the Caudle home. We also had an Easter program that my Sister-in-law Vivienne put together. It was nice to have a reminder of why we celebrate Easter and that it's just not for the bunnies or candy. It was a nice evening and I am glad we were able to spend time with both families for Easter.
Kelsey looked adorable in her Easter dress! I couldn't take my eyes off her! We also got a nice family photo that will always be special to me. I am glad though that it has quieted down. I am behind in my house work! Still got laundry to do, floors to vacuum, bathrooms to clean, and a kitchen that needs some help. So hopefully I can catch up on them soon! I don't like a messy house!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter and remembered what we celebrated it for. I am so grateful for the Savior and his eternal plan. Without it I wouldn't be able to spend the rest of eternity with the people that I love so much!

Daddy Love

I knew it from the very beginning. Kelsey is a daddy's girl. Just look for yourself =)

Even from inside my belly they loved each other. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband to be the father of my children. Kelsey is one lucky girl to have a Dad that loves her so much! She is always happy when he is home. She especially loves it when he is the one to change her diapers. They definitely love each other!

sun??

Boy do I want the sun to shine! I think everyone is just tired of this rain. Last Monday we were happy to finally see a sunny, clear day! The first and only day so far that it hasn't rained in who knows how long now. It has been a while! Trent and I went out for a walk in the morning before he had to go to work which was so nice! I love being able to spend time with him and Kelsey at the same time. When we got back home Trent was reading her a story and she just passed out! I guess the nice day was just too much for her to handle! =) What a sweetie. Daddy got his cuddle time with her before he left and then when she woke up we went for another walk. It was just too nice to pass up! As the day went on it got up to 66 degrees! The sun was wonderful! Kelsey really really enjoyed it! And so did I! We were both kinda sad when we went back inside. We even had the patio door open all day. We sat by the door and Kelsey was able to look outside for a bit and see everything that was going on. She liked it =) We both missed Trent though. It would have made the day a whole lot nicer! He always wishes he could be home with the two of us. But I am grateful for all his hard work that he does for our family. I am so excited for the weather to be nicer. It will be nice to go on walks as a family before Trent has to go to work. And there is a pool and a playground here! Here's to some more sunny days! May they come quickly! Me and Kelsey would much enjoy that. We need to get out more =)
