Catch up

Oh boy do I have some catching up on here to do. I haven't posted for like 2 months. That is not good! So I will try and go through things until this point of time. It may take some time. I have to go through all my pictures just so I can remember what all went down this summer! Here we go! =D Hopefully they will be on here soon. Not sure how many of you actually read this stuff but it is good for me to remember and look back on ;)

Kelsey can wave!

My little Kelsey girl can wave! And not just the open the palm wave. It is the full on back and forth parade wave! I think we have a little Miss America on our hands! It is soooo adorable! She waves at the people at the store, her shadow, when we leave a room, and to her family. What a cutie patootie =D

6 months!

I can't believe Kelsey turned 6 months 2 days. I seriously rocked her in my arms for a good amount of time last night before putting her in her bed. I just wanted to hold onto my little girl before I couldn't remember how little she once was. I didn't realize how fast they actually grow until having my own little baby girl. It is true what they say. They really grow up too fast. Here are Kelsey's 6 month statistics:

Height: 25.7in Just above 50th percentile
Weight: 15.2lb Just below 50th percentile
Head: 16.5in Just below 50th percentile

She is pretty much the average baby girl!!!! haha. A little different than her 4 month appointment where she was tall and skinny for her age group. She is starting to fill out nicely all around =) I feel so lucky to have Kelsey as a daughter. She is so wonderful and laid back and happy! I feel spoiled sometimes at how wonderful she is. She is hardly fussy. She is only cranky when she is tired, hasn't pooped, and is bored. But she never just fusses to fuss. She sleeps 10-12 hours every night. She has always been a good sleeper at night time. She does have problems during the day with her naps though still. She still takes 30-45 min naps and usually takes 4 of those. So I guess it is getting fewer. It used to be like 6!

Kelsey is now able to sit up by herself!!! Sometimes she will still try to throw herself back. She hasn't figured out yet that if she does that, she will hurt herself. She has done it a few times and it has not made her too happy! That or she will try to go on her face. lol. She is getting better and stronger each day though and I know she will be a master soon enough! She loves to play with her toys sitting up. It is fun to see her play with her toys in a different way now. She seems a lot happier playing with them in this position than any other.

Today we made some progress with rolling from her back to her tummy. I barely touched her and she did it 2 or 3 times! I can't wait til she just does it on her own. She is just too content on being on her back. She loves to throw her legs up in the air and then throw them down against the ground. The other day she scooted around in a whole half circle on her back. I wish she would do that on her tummy. Trent and I have been practicing putting her on her tummy with her knees up so that she can learn to crawl. She is sort of catching on to pulling her knees in but nothing more coming from that. I know she will get the hang of it when she is ready. She still isn't into tummy time very much. She is getting better, but only if the toy in front of her is something she really wants and likes. Otherwise she will just roll right over!

Kelsey is starting to get louder and louder. She is such a girl! She has a little girl voice and puts it to good use when she wants to. She squeals in her highest voice possible and it is so cute! I just love it! She blows raspberries all the time and spits. She is still pretty drooly but isn't spitting up as much as she used to!!! I think it is because she sits up more now and has started rice cereal. She has been on rice cereal for a few weeks now and we are ready to move on to vegetables! I am thinking Monday =) I am excited for her to start some new food and see how she likes it. She is so good at eating her cereal now. She is a pro! Now we need to move on trying the sippy cup and mastering that skill. She loves cups and loves to hold them! She knows where to put her mouth so I am wondering if maybe I should just give her a cup instead? I dunno. I have tried the sippy cup and she doesn't really seem to get any water out at all. She just likes to chew on it. But we will work on it =)

Kelsey loves to interact with other people. Especially kids. She is loving her cousin Lucy right now because she is about the same age and size. Just 6 months apart. They seem to really have fun playing together and it is really fun to watch and be apart of. I love that she has a cousin her age! For the most part she is really quiet when she is watching others play. She takes it all in and I can just see her brain processing it all. She especially loves the mirror! When she is bored or fussy I just take her in my room to the big closet mirror and she could seriously just play in front of that thing for hours! It makes me tired! Haha! It is because she always wants to stand up in front of it and jump. It is cute. I just love that little girl! She is so full of life! She makes everything exciting and happy and fun! Trent and I adore her! Everything about her! She is so ticklish! Everywhere! She is just like her daddy and I think its adorable =) I love that she has a personality and that she smiles and laughs and even cries. She sure is a funny baby.

I feel so blessed to have such a healthy, happy baby. I am so proud to call her my daughter and I am so grateful for Trent for working so hard to take care of us both and allowing me to stay home and take care of her and help her learn and grow. I love being there for her and her milestones and just everything. It makes everything worth while and it makes my life exciting. I love to brag about her and show her off. I love my daughter and that is all there is to it!! Happy 6 months baby girl!

Zumba Zumba

Will my abs ever look like hers? I am starting to wonder. This leftover baby flab is starting to kinda depress me. A few weeks ago I bought Zumba on the wii. It seems to be a pretty good workout but mostly on my legs. I think it is fun but I wish I had more room in my living room and better shoes!!! But I do like it. It is nice to be semi active. I really wish I could shed these last pounds......

1st little ponytail!

2 days ago i decided to try and put a ponytail on Kelsey. I haven't tried it yet because I was so scared I was going to rip all her hair out! It is so thin and I have never really done little girls hair before. Her hair is plenty long enough just again, so thin! It was scary but it looked so cute! Her hair is starting to grow in under her hair from where it was all falling out. So it is finally beginning to thicken up so I am excited for future little ponytails! I love my little girl! She is growing up so fast!

Pool Time!

Kelsey loved her first swimming adventure! We went one day early to the pool before Trent went to work. It was so nice because we had the whole pool to ourselves and the weather was pretty decent. You should see the pool now that it is summer vacation. I am glad we got at least one day at the pool before school was out. Not sure how many lucky times we will get where it isn't overcrowded. I hope we can get out again! We had fun on our family outing and Kelsey just loves water!!!! Happy summer to you all!!

First playground trip

Every once in a while we will have a nice day here in Portland. Even though we should be having a lot more! It is the middle of June and I am sitting inside right now watching the rain fall outside. Yesterday it was 75 outside! The weather is being wacky. Anyway, a couple weeks ago I babysat Octavian, my little nephew, and we had fun going to the
little playground here at the apartments and then going on a walk. It was the first time I took Kelsey there and it was fun. =) The weather was perfect! Octavian had fun playing with Kelsey and Kelsey had fun watching him. I can't wait til she is a little older and play more with her cousins!
