Yellowstone with the fam!

When we moved into Rexburg we spent a few days unpacking our things and packing Justin and Summer's things. So we decided to take a break from our busy lives and go to Yellowstone. So we spent the whole day there. It was actually a pretty fun vacation with the family =) We saw some Bison, elk, and a white headed eagle. I really wanted to see a moose or a bear but we didn't have much luck with them. But we did see a lot of geysers and pretty sites. And we saw Old Faithful! So it was fun! =) Then when we were done we went to Big Juds and got a huge hamburger! I only ate a 1/4 of it. And we ate some ice cream =D of course!

Palmyra NY!

So finally here are some pictures of our trip to Palmyra. I will only put a few. But it was an awesome experience! We were able to go to a lot of church historical places. It was amazing to be there! Beyond amazing! I learned so much about the church and I will never forget the feelings that I felt. I am so lucky to have gone!

The Sacred Grove

I loved being in there. It was so peaceful and it reminded me of the temple. Just knowing how great the experience Joseph Smith had there gave me chills. I loved it.

At the bottom of Hill Cumorah, there was this monument that read Moroni's promise.

At the very top of Hill Cumorah, this statue of Moroni stood. On each side at the bottom there were different plaques pertaining to the book of mormon.

This was inside the Smith's home. This is one of the hiding places where Joseph hid the golden plates.

This is where Joseph laid when Moroni appeared to him. Pretty amazing to stand in that room.

After our little trip we decided to stop by Niagara Falls! We only stayed on the US side but it was still really cool to see it and say they we have been there.

An update

Well I have had some laptop issues so I haven't been able to update my blog lately but I am finally finding a chance now. =) I have some updating to do and some uploading of pictures to do too. I have some pictures from Palmyra to put up and some from Yellowstone. But I will get to that after my little update. =)

Well we made the move out of Ohio! We decided to fly home but in order to do that we had to ship a few things back so we could fly. So we sent 7 boxes of stuff to my brother Justin and his wife's place in Rexburg. Since we were moving there we thought it would be a good idea to just send our things there. We flew home and were there about a week before we got our moving truck. We packed it up full of our things that have been packed in mine and Trent's parents garages for the summer. We made it to Rexburg safely, even though it took us an extra time. Trent got sick on the way out and he threw up at a rest stop. Good thing it was out there instead of in the car! But I felt bad for him. Moving when you are sick is no fun!

We got to Rexburg and got our things unpacked into our new apartment. I was kinda scared at first because I didn't think all our stuff was going to fit. But somehow we got it all to fit pretty nicely. Nothing to worry about. =) So we unpacked our place and then spent the next couple days helping my brother Justin and his wife Summer pack up their place. They moved back to Portland for more job opportunities. So it was a pretty packed week. Lots going on! We decided to take a break and take a family trip to Yellowstone national park. It was nice to take a break and before school started.

So here we are now in Rexburg. Trent just started school and is enjoying it so far. He is taking night classes because his term isn't until winter but he wanted to get some extra schooling in. He is anxious to be involved in his studies. So here I am, looking for a full time job. I just applied for a job at the bank and I am really hoping that I can at least get an interview. So wish me luck! =) I will upload some pictures soon! I am so behind and this is soo long!

Kirtland!

Again Trent and I had the chance to do some more church history. On Sunday after church we made our way up to Kirtland to visit the temple and the Newel K. Whitney Store. We were able to take a tour inside the temple and the store. It was so neat to go inside the temple and see where Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ both appeared. It was a great experience. We are so blessed to be so close and to experience the things that we have.

New Hair Cut!

So my hair was getting pretty long and I decided that it needed to be cut. And to a shorter length. It was getting in my way. =) So here is a before and after picture of the new do!

John Johnson Farm

Trent and I have been able to experience a lot of different things here in Ohio. One thing that I really love about being here is that we are so close to church history. The other Sunday we were able to visit the John Johnson farm in Hiram. It is about 20 min away from where we live. the Johnson farm is historic for a few reasons. It served as church headquarters for about six months where some of the translating of the bible took place. Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon received the revelation from Doctrine and Covenants section 76. This was the vision about the three degrees of glory. This was also the home where they were both drug from the home and tarred and feathered and where Joseph and Emmas son, Joseph died from exposure to the cold air. His body is buried somewhere on the farm but no one knows where. It was amazing to stand in the room where the revelations took place. To know that such significance took place in that room was an amazing feeling. I really loved being there and being able to learn a little more about the history of the church. So here are a few pictures of our trip to the farm =)

Lake Erie

We had the chance to go to Lake Erie for the fourth of July and go water skiing! It was really fun and scary! I rode on the back with Trent and he would laugh every time I started to scream! It was definitely fun and worth it.




Knight also got to take his first swim lesson! He hates water but he seemed to like the swimming part. =) Lake Erie was really pretty and just never ending! I am glad I had a chance to experience it!
