The joys of being an adult

Well today I was laid off. I was actually starting to think that things were finally working out for us. I started getting paid more, Trent got a part time job, and things were just looking up. Looks like I am back where I was when we first moved here. I am hoping that things will work faster and more smoothly than they did at the beginning. Rexburg is such a small place with not many job opportunities. I will just have to keep my hopes high and spirits bright. Please keep Trent and I in your thoughts and prayers. I am blessed to have such a great family who loves and supports Trent and I . I am so grateful for all the help they have been to us in trying to achieve our goals. Thanks for always being there.

A Snowy New Years

This New Years was pretty quiet. We stayed home and watched the ball drop on tv and then went to bed. Pretty exciting!! But on New Years we woke up and looked out the window and saw lots of snow! So we decided to put on our snow gear and go out for a little fun in the snow. Here are a few pictures =)

Christmas Time!

Christmas this year was great! I was able to get a week off of work so Trent and I could make the drive to Portland and celebrate with family =) We tried to even out our time that we spent with each family since they live like two minutes away from each other. I love that they live so close. It makes it easier to visit with family. We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my family and then Christmas night and the next day with Trent's family. Although, I wasn't feeling the best on Christmas, it was still a nice Christmas day. =) I love my family and I love my in-laws. We were sad that we only had a week to spend with them both. It's just not enough time! The next time I will see my family is in April when my brother James gets married. But I don't know exactly when we will Trent's family next. So Christmas was nice. We miss you all and love you all! It was great spending time with you! =D

A couple of big days I forgot to mention!!

Well first off, Trent and I celebrated our Two year anniversary!! =) Yay for October 13th! It has been two wonderful years. We have been able to spend so much time together and do fun things. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband who is always there to make me feel better and make me happy. I love you Trent!!! =D
We didn't have much money then but my parents gave us twenty dollars so we went out to lunch together which was our fun highlight of the day. Thanks Mom and Dad! And Trent also gave me a little gift. It was a picture he drew of flowers. He is too darn cute!!
Also, on Thanksgiving, I celebrated my 22nd birthday. Well, not a whole lot of celebrating went down, but I still turned 22! I worked 7-2 at the Assisted Living Home. Then at 3, Trent and I drove to Utah to eat Thanksgiving dinner with Trent's Uncle and Cousins. We stayed there for a couple hours and played a game which was pretty fun. It was nice to be with family on Thanksgiving and enjoy their company. Then we drove another hour to sleep over at Trent's brother's place. (Kyle and Emily) When we got there, Emily made me a birthday cake! So I got a little surprise which was awesome!! They even sang to me!! =) Thanks Emily for the cake!!

Our Trip to Disneyland!!

Well, One of Trent's old mission companions, Greg Colledge, won four free tickets to Disneyland and California Adventure!! Well his wife Melissa won them =) They really wanted us to go with them and we really wanted to go too. We just didn't have the money to go. I only had my fill in job and Trent hasn't worked one day yet with that tow company. So we had told them that we didn't think we would be able to go. I guess they really wanted us to go with them because they said they would pay for gas and the hotel!! They said they would bring food with them too!! I mean how nice can they get!!! And how lucky could we get!! I mean seriously! So we drove to Utah to spend the night at Greg and Melissas. The next morning we left for Disneyland!! My first time ever!!! It was amazing! We spent two days in the parks. Oct 30th and Oct 31st. It was super fun being there for Halloween! They had a lot of decorations and it was themed awesome!! The first day we were in the parks for 12 hours!! The next day 14!! Our feet and legs were tired! But we had soo much fun!! Trent had told us about the pin trading that goes on at Disneyland and Greg and Melissa really wanted to do it. So they bought some pins and starting trading. I decided that I wanted to do it also since everyone else was. So that was my souvenir from the trip. It made the trip even more enjoyable and I am glad that we were all able to do it together. =) I will put up a few of my favorite pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

Lots going on!

Wow! Have I had a lot going on last month and this month!! I got a job at an assisted living home at the beginning of last month. I was very lucky to get this job. Even though I was only getting a few hours. I was a fill- in for the whole month of October. So I didn't have any set amount of hours. Just sat around waiting for calls to work. I got a few which was nice. But it still wasn't enough. So for the month of November, I got some set hours. I took over this other girl's shift that was Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm. 12 hour shifts! My first day was this last Saturday. It is very tiring work! I clean bathrooms, rooms, kitchens, bathe and dress the residents. And feed them. There are two people that work a shift and 12 residents that live there. So it stays quite busy!! I didn't want to work Sundays but that was the only kind of work I could find and we were out of money. So I think the Lord will understand. =)

But now!!! On Friday my brother called me and says, hey my boss wants to talk to you. So I went into his work Friday morning to talk to his boss. It is a weightvest company. So I sat down and he showed me right there and then what I would be doing. He started showing me how to sew the vests together. Just the outside part of it. So I was hired on the spot! It was crazy! I started working that day! So I worked Friday, then my 12 hour shifts sat and sun, then I have been working 8-4 this week at the weightvest job. So I got a full time job there. So now I will be working 7 days a week..... I am hoping that next month I will be able to either switch shifts at the assisted living home to only a couple hours a few nights a week or maybe just quit it all together. It depends on how much I can make at this other job or if I can switch shifts. I don't want to have to work Sundays if I have another full time job. And 7 days a week is just too much!! Hopefully I can last this month. I have been pretty tired and sore. I

I am very grateful for all the blessings that Trent and I have received. Right when we get to the bottom, we are somehow blessed by the Lord. I have had more major blessings in the past month and a half then I could ever imagine. I am truly blessed and grateful for what I have. I am also very grateful to all my family and friends for their support. I love you all. =) We have such great neighbors who are willing to help us and be there to lend a helping hand. And wonderful family who will never let us fail in life. Thanks for everything.

Job Situations

So we weren't having a whole lot of luck with me finding a job. I had two interviews and have applied for a handful of places but still no luck. So Trent had to step in. When we arrived in Idaho we had a lot of car issues and had to have our car towed. When the guy came, Trent had told him that he had experience with towing and he said to give him a call in a few weeks. So today Trent went in and filled out paperwork and such. So he will probably start towing this weekend. He is just going to work weekends for right now. But it is better than nothing at this point. I am having such a hard time. I am hoping that I have some good luck with the Albertsons here. I am going in tomorrow to see about some work. I have some inside help so we will see how it all goes. Wish me luck! Hopefully I can find something soon so I don't have to live on the streets in cold ol Rexburg
