On April 24th, the week after we got back from our trip to Arizona, I found out I was pregnant! I just had this feeling that I might be pregnant which was really weird because Trent and I had been trying to have a baby for over two years and I had just kinda given up on the idea of having a baby any time soon. I remember feeling very anxious and nervous because I didn't want to buy a test and have it come out negative. It had been a hard couple of years seeing everyone else get pregnant and having families. We just felt so ready to start a family of our own and be parents. But I still felt the impression that I needed to buy a test. So I went and bought one and took it the next morning and almost instantly the line appeared saying I was pregnant. I guess I was kind of in shock. I stared at it for a minute and looked in the mirror and continued brushing my hair. I glanced at it again and still couldn't believe what I was seeing. I asked Trent to look at it and asked him if I was reading that right. My eyes welled up with tears as Trent looked at me with tears of his own and told me that I was reading it right. It was such a special moment for us to find out that we were going to have a baby of our own. I felt stress free and happy. Well Trent just couldn't wait any longer to tell our families so the next day we told our families. Everyone was really excited. Especially my mom! She is so excited to be a Grandma and she is hoping for a girl =) I am now 16 weeks pregnant! I was pretty sick for pretty much the whole first trimester and I am so excited to be feeling better. My tummy is starting to stick out a little bit and I am excited for when I actually look pregnant. I am really super excited for Aug. 5th. That is when we will find out if it is a boy or a girl =D Then I can go buy lots of cute stuff! Trent and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to raise a family and to be parents. We are excited!

hmmmm.....
Well, it has been far too long since I have last updated my blog. I think it's about time I did so =) Lots and lots of things have happened since my last post. In April Trent and I decided that it would be best for our family if we moved back to Portland. So we packed up our apartment in Rexburg and my loving brother drove from Portland to take the moving truck back with him. My whole family came to Rexburg to see James get all graduated! Yay for James! Then Trent and I took a little road trip with my parents, Grandma, and Jay to Arizona. James and Mallorie were getting married and we were all excited for them! On the way we took some detours. Our first detour was to Zion's National Park. We also hit up the Grand Canyon and boy was it Grand! Both places were very beautiful, except in Zions when we actually got snowed and rained on! We were not expecting cold weather so none of us had jackets. haha! But we survived! They were really fun!

Then we were ready for James and Mal! Arizona was pretty hot but it was so nice to be there with them. I am so lucky to have been with both my older brothers and see them be sealed in the temple. I was really excited for them but miss them very much! I wish Arizona weren't so far away so we could spend more time with them. Love you both!

On the way back from Arizona we made another detour to Yosemite National Park and hit up an In-n-Out. Yosemite was a really pretty and really big park. The waterfall there was really something. We also saw a baby bear! The ranger was out there trying to get it to go up into the woods but I guess it just really liked being around people. Apparently this ranger knew this bear well. lol. Lots of pretty trees and water and a cool visitors center up there. In-n-Out burger was awesome! We stopped in California to grab one because we have never had one before. I was surprised to see how small their menu was but it didn't matter. The burger was amazing! The place was packed! It was nuts! But so worth it for cheap! Loved it!

So all in all a good trip! =) Even though it was a very long time to be sitting in the car, it was awesome to experience all those cool places and take pictures and make memories. So that is all I will write for this post since it is already quite long. That is what I get for taking forever to update!

One Cute Husband
Today Trent came into our room to wake me up from working my graveyard shift and told me to look on our night stand. To my surprise, there lay a red rose and a new book! The Hunger Games. My sister-in-law Summer had said this book was really good and I had been interested in reading it. Trent is such a cute husband for noticing and bought it for me when he was in the book store at school. He knows I like flowers too so he went to the store and bought me a rose to go with my book. I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband who loves me and wants me to be happy! Love you Trent!

Happy Easter!
Well this was our second year in a row being away from our families for Easter. It's sad not to be home for the Easter egg hunts and family brunches. This Easter was very quiet for us. Trent made chocolate chip pancakes and I made some maple syrup and it was very yummy! We then spent the morning and afternoon watching Conference which was really nice. It was perfect having conference on Easter Sunday to remind us of Christ and his teachings and his life. There were a lot of great talks and it was very relaxing. In between sessions Trent and I were able to set up the web cam with his family. We are able to talk to his parents in Portland and his brother and wife in Provo. So that was nice. =) During the second session I made my families Easter tradition, pineapple with strawberry's! That is one of my favorite things about my families Easter brunch. It is so yummy and it reminds me of home! After conference was over Trent and I spent most of the night packing up our apartment. We got a lot done and we feel good with our progress! We still have the kitchen to do which is going to take the longest because we have a lot of kitchen stuff! But the other rooms are for the most part packed! We are so excited to move back to Portland and be with our families! =) Hope everyone had a great Easter Sunday!

Trent was supposed to leave the top of the pineapple on but he cut it off before I told him not to. lol. oh well, it still tasted good and looked good!

My thumb discovery
Well, I guess I am not as deformed as I thought. Come to discover I am not the only one with weird thumbs! And it has a name for it. It is called brachydactyly. My sister-in-law Emily sent me this article about Megan Fox and how she has the same thumbs. It was funny reading it. Ever since 4th grade, where my teacher first noticed them, I have been made fun of. Whenever I show them my thumbs they laugh and say they look like big toes. Well, here it is guys! The proof that I am not the only one with weird thumbs! Here is the article I read about Megan Fox and a picture of her thumbs. I also posted a picture of my thumbs for your enjoyment or laughter. =)

Valentines Day!
Since Valentines Day was on Sunday, Trent and I celebrated it twice! Saturday and Sunday! =) On Saturday afternoon, we made a little trip to Olive Garden. My parents had given us a gift card for Christmas and so we thought it was a perfect time to treat ourselves. Of course it was pretty crowded but we got in fairly quick and enjoyed a nice meal. We then went to Florence's Exquisite Candies where Trent let me pick out some really yummy chocolates! Trent is such a nice husband! They were soo good! Anyone living in Rexburg who hasn't tried them needs to!
Also on Saturday I decided to make Valentines Day brownies. I have this heart shaped pan that was given to me as a wedding gift and I thought it would be fun to use. So I made brownies and then I made some pink frosting and decorated them to look like conversation hearts. They turned out really cute! I was proud of myself! I gave some to friends and Trent and I enjoyed a few ourselves =)
Sunday was very nice. We enjoyed a nice day at church and then I came home and took a nap. While I was napping, Trent cleaned and set the table for a nice Valentines Day dinner. He made an Italian Salmon Pasta and it was very good! He is such a good cook even though he gets picky with his presentation. He is funny like that =) I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful and loving husband! It was a great weekend!

Feeling Lucky?
Well, I decided to try my luck back at Homestead and they have decided to take me back! I will be working 40 hours a week which, is full time!! The only downside is that it is a graveyard shift and I have to work alone. I am kind of nervous on being by myself at night. I also am not super experienced so that makes me nervous also. So tomorrow night and Thursday night I will be training. I hope I can get everything down before I am on my own. I will be working Monday-Thursday, 9pm-7am. I am trying my best to stay up late tonight so that I wont make a puddle of drool tomorrow night. I do not know how long I will last, hence writing the blog! I am hoping to adjust to this change quickly. Nothing would be worse than falling asleep at work when there is so much to be done! Although I know it will not be easy, I know that I will be blessed for doing it. I am just grateful to have a job! Wish me luck!
